Ocean and Surf sessions are designed for all levels—from first-timers to more experienced surfers.
Beginners will receive step-by-step guidance in a safe, supportive environment, while those with experience will be coached on refining skills, building confidence, and spending more time in the water.

Yoga sessions include both vinyasa and restorative styles, offering a balance of movement and rest.
Classes are accessible to all levels and designed to help you reconnect with your body, release tension, and feel more grounded.

Each retreat creates space for real connection—through shared experiences, time in nature, and moments of simple, genuine joy.
Whether it’s laughing on the beach, sharing meals, or trying something new, the weekends are designed to feel easy, supportive, and uplifting.

Guests can choose between a shared heated cedar cabin with sleeping pads (new photo of UPDATED cabin coming soon!), a private tent, or a shared bedroom within the home.

Hi, I’m Kyla.
I started Pacific Coast Surf Lessons with my partner Nick in 2019. I’m a proud mom of two bright young girls. I have seven years in recovery, and I was recently diagnosed with ADHD—an answer that finally brought clarity to a lifetime of imposter syndrome, self-doubt, and social anxiety.
Motherhood, especially postpartum seasons, altered the confidence I had in my body and my abilities—particularly in the ocean—many moments like this have pulled me out of alignment with myself over the years; leaving me to question who I am at my core. Again and again, I’ve found my way back through the sand between my toes, the roaring vastness of the ocean, the humble surf sessions, and the practice of deep mindful yoga. These places and practices continuously ground me, helping me find the space to not only show up for my family, but to also show up for myself. I've learned to listen and feel my body as it changes, to honor my mind through different phases of adulthood, and to meet myself daily with more compassion and grace.
I’ve spent much of my life working with others, teaching swimming, surfing, gymnastics, art, skiing, and I’m a former lifeguard. Caring for people and watching them grow through new experiences has always brought me joy and it's the same feeling I get while hosting the women's retreats. I love inviting you into my home, supporting you in your journey of self, and harnessing my late Grandma Cookie by making homemade meals and being your local guide for the weekend.
I hope to create the space I once longed for and that I am just recently finding for myself—a place where women can connect honestly, feel at home in their bodies, and settle into who they are continually becoming. A space where we learn to value ourselves fully, flaws and all, with laughter, love and support.
