pacific coast surf Lessons Summer camp
Kids Summer Surf Camp
WHEN: PCSL Surf Camp is offered Monday- Thursday 10:00 am- 3:00 pm starting June 12th.
WHAT'S INCLUDED: We provide all-day summer fun for kids age 7-16; we also provide wetsuits, surfboards, leashes, trained surfing instruction and certified lifeguards. Our camp is insured and we keep a 5:1 ratio, creating a controlled and safe environment where every camper gets the attention and guidance they deserve.
WHERE: Our summer surf camp takes place in Bolinas, CA (1 hour North of San Francisco, just 10 minutes past Stinson Beach.) We meet every morning in the grassy park behind the tennis courts at 80 Brighton Ave.
WHAT TO EXPECT: We will divide the camp into a maximum of 5 groups. Each group will have 1 head instructor, 1 counselor in training and 5-6 campers: with one Lead instructor posted on the beach to help wherever needed our ratio is unbeatable! Each group will have different colored PCSL hats to take home at the end of the session, and will enjoy fun beach games that correlate to a different ocean/surf lesson during lunch. Depending on safety, tides and ocean current patterns, we aim to be in the surf for at least 3 hours throughout every day.
OUR GOAL: We aim for every child to walk away from our camp with new friends, amazing memories, confident ocean awareness, and improved surf skills and techniques.
Price: $495 per session
Additional Camp Options:
- Carpool to and from Mill Valley 9am-4pm - $65 (offered in July sessions only)
- Friday single day camp w/ carpool included - $135 (offered in July only)
- Teen Sleep-away Campouts: Monday-Friday during certain sessions ($995)

The shuttle will leave Mill Valley at 9am and return at 4pm
PCSL Summer Carpool is an additional $65 for the four day session and will only be offered during July Surf Camps.

10am - Meet instructors in the grassy park behind the tennis courts at 80 Brighton Ave. Bolinas, Ca.
10-10:20 - Get suited and carry boards down to the beach.
10:20-10:30 - Daily Surf/Ocean Lesson: Monday- pop-ups, Tuesday- Etiquette, Wednesday- Currents, Thursday- Buddy System
10:30-12:00 - SURF!
12:00-1:00 - Lunch: Game/Adventure- Groups will compete to win small prizes while learning valuable surf and ocean lessons (Wednesday's we venture into the lagoon to learn about currents.)
1:00-2:30- SURF!
2:30-3pm - Bring all equipment back up to the truck and change into warm, dry clothes!

Weekly Schedule
Monday- Popping Up
Tuesday- Surf Etiquette
Monday is all about pop-ups. How our bodies all work differently and how we get to our feet varies greatly. Our instructors take time to focus on each individual and figure out what works best for them.
Monday's game: Pop-up tag! Practicing staying focused and popping up as quick as possible to stay in the game.
Tuesday- Surf Etiquette
Tuesday- Surf Etiquette
Tuesday we will learn how to behave in the ocean alongside other surfers. This is such an important lesson that we take with us to every surf break around the world.
Tuesday's game: Spoon&Egg relay race. Teaching us to be patient, take turns, pay attention and share the stoke with our fellow surfers.
Wednesday- Tides and Currents
Wednesday we will look at currents and tides. Not only learning about what to do if we get caught in a current, but also how to use them to our advantage as surfers. Wednesday's we sit back and let the current take us for a ride in a lagoon adventure at. Learning to literally go with the flow and stay calm.
Wednesday's game: Towel Lava. Working together to realize that sometimes slowing down to plan the next right step will ultimately lead you to safety.
Thursday- Never Surf Alone
Thursday- Never Surf Alone
It may seem old school, but the buddy system is a huge safety topic in any surfers tool box. We never should surf alone. Every Thursday we learn how to stay together and practice asking for help when needed.
Thursday's game: Three, four and five legged races. Nothing says buddy system more then being stuck together!

Fridays are an addition to camp this year. Carpool is included in Friday tuition and with only 10 spaces available, the day will be mellow and fun! Enjoying that surf lifestyle of going with the flow and enjoying everything that West Marin has to offer our campers.
Friday's special event: Ice cream from Stinson Beach on the way home!
